Terms of sale
These terms apply to gases, cylinders and equipment supplied by The Kamrup Industrial Gases Limited. Where we have signed a separate written contract or a rate agreement with you, that document takes precedence over this page.
Quotations and prices
Where a price range is shown on a product page it is indicative only. It is published so that a buyer can judge the order of magnitude before enquiring, not as an offer capable of acceptance. Gas, cylinder and equipment prices depend on grade, quantity, cylinder size, delivery location and contract term, and the figure that binds either party is the one on a written quotation. Quotations are valid for the period stated on them and are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
Cylinders remain our property
Unless you have bought a cylinder outright and hold an invoice saying so, every cylinder we deliver remains the property of KIGL. You are buying the gas inside it, not the cylinder. This matters practically: cylinders must be returned, must not be transferred to a third party, refilled by anyone else, repainted, re-stamped, or modified in any way. Rental or holding charges apply as set out in your quotation.
Safety and fitness for purpose
Industrial gases are dangerous goods. You are responsible for storing, handling and using them safely, for training the people who will do so, and for holding whatever licences your own operations require. Our safety data sheets and standards pages are published to help, but they do not replace your own risk assessment or your statutory duties.
Where a gas is supplied to a specification, we supply to that specification. We cannot know whether that specification suits your process, so confirming fitness for your application is your responsibility. If in doubt, tell us the application and we will tell you honestly whether the grade is right.
Medical gases
Medical gases are supplied only to customers entitled to receive them, against the appropriate licence. We may ask for evidence of that entitlement before supplying, and may decline to supply where it is not provided. See medical gas standards.
Delivery and returns
Delivery dates are given in good faith and are estimates. Risk in the gas passes to you on delivery. Please inspect cylinders on arrival and tell us immediately about damage, an overdue test date, or a discrepancy — we would far rather collect a cylinder back than have it used.
Gas that has been supplied correctly to specification is not returnable. Cylinders are returnable and must be returned; empty cylinders should be returned with valves closed and caps fitted.
